Developmental Disabilities and Sexuality - Talking With Your Kids: It's Never Too Soon to Begin

Talking with your child about sexuality can create anxious feelings along with many reasons to avoid the topic. Creating a supportive, safe, and trusting space for you and your child is critical to build open, strong lines of communication.  The Arc has connected with renowned expert in the field, Katherine McLaughlin who has opened doors for parents to talk with their kids with developmental disabilities about sexuality.

You’re invited to participate in a free online training for parents with kids with developmental disabilities that addresses the challenges and barriers of talking about sexuality. The training will also provide tips and tools to create positive conversation with your child so they can grow into a happy, healthy, and informed adult.

To register for the online training please call Barb Thompson at The Arc Greater Twin Cities at (952) 920-0855.
