Welcoming Our New Board Member: Angela Falcone
We’d like to extend an enthusiastic welcome to one of our newest board members, Angela Falcone!
Having officially joined our board of directors this past September, Angela brings to our board a passion for equity and an expertise in public health. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public health at Dartmouth College and has interned at a local community health center.
Angela moved to Denver last year from Chicago, where she built her dental practice from the ground up and taught as a dental school instructor.
“We saw many patients with IDD (intellectual and developmental disabilities) and I really did see that there was quite a disparity of access to care in how the patients were able to get treatment as they transitioned from children to adults,” Angela explained. As her career continued, her passion for ensuring people with IDD had access to the care they needed continued to develop.
Angela became connected with The Arc-JCC&GC after seeing a LinkedIn post from Executive Director Lori Ropa, with whom Angela shared a mutual LinkedIn connection. “I was impressed with The Arc’s mission and the people who were involved,” Angela said, adding that The Arc’s mission “is more important than ever right now. Everybody, despite their ability, deserves to be able to participate.”
Now, Angela is excited to serve on our board and is particularly focused on raising awareness of The Arc and our chapter with the public.
In her free time, Angela enjoys going for walks at Washington Park, going to concerts at Red Rocks, and reading historical fiction.
Welcome to the team, Angela!
