Welcoming Board Member Brian Allison
We’re thrilled to be welcoming Brian Allison to our board of directors! Brian joined our board this past June, stepping into the role of board secretary.
As a family member to a sister with medical needs and a parent to children on the autism spectrum, Brian has long been passionate about working to ensure that people with disabilities can access the same opportunities as those without disabilities. Additionally, Brian brings another important perspective to our board as a professional in disability services, having worked for more than a decade as a direct support professional and job coach before founding a Program Approved Service Agency (PASA) in 2017. Today, he continues to serve as the PASA’s CEO, overseeing the agency’s work to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through residential, employment, and day program services.
“There's a lot of struggle in this field right now. There are a lot of really positive things and positive businesses that have been around for families that have gone away because of some of the cuts and changes,” Brian said. “It's sad to see those go, but it's also good that there are still people advocating for this group. I'm excited to see how The Arc and the board is going to address some of these legislative changes and cuts, and I'm interested in helping out however I can.” Additionally, he looks forward to contributing to the board’s work to think progressively about ongoing and potential long-term goals.
In his free time, Brian enjoys getting outdoors, running, and spending time with his family.
Welcome to the team, Brian!
