DD Awareness Month Activities

You won’t believe who’s joining us for Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month—it’s comedian, Josh Blue! We will be interviewing him on camera at his home and we’ll be showcasing not only his fantastic humor, but also his abilities to manage show business, fatherhood and life as a person with cerebral palsy. If you want to know more about Josh Blue, click here: https://www.joshblue.com/about/

In addition to featuring Josh Blue during DD Awareness Month, there will be other exciting activities including:

  • A flash mob in downtown Denver (Larimer Square) organized by Molly Kirkham at 2 PM on Sunday, March 13. A flash mob is a group of people mobilized by social media to meet in a public place for the purpose of doing an unusual or entertaining activity of short duration. You can join in - click here for a flyer with details from Molly.
  • Happy Hour Employment Mixer on Wednesday, March 9 from 4-6 PM at Brewability. Our chapter is partnering with The Arc of Arapahoe & Douglas Counties to highlight the proven facts about hiring people with IDD—that it’s good for the bottom line. It will bring together employers with people with IDD who work, or who are looking for work, and also with other employers who are already successfully including people with IDD on their staff. To learn more, email info@arcjc.org.
  • Mini-features that highlight the abilities of extraordinary people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Special appearances by Rosie the Robot! She helps expand the abilities of the people we serve through her technology
